Design Story

The silhouette is the design. Instead of a rectangle carrying an image, the outline follows the ghost's fluted hem, scalloping into curls, moons and gold stars along a charcoal border. Inside, the palette holds to three notes: cream, dusty violet, antique gold. The masquerade mask sits high with feathered plumes off one side, a beaded bow anchors the centre, and a lit jack-o'-lantern lantern balances the left edge — a deliberately asymmetric focal structure that keeps the eye circulating. Embroidery-style vines and small florals fill the lower drape without crowding the pale negative space that gives the piece its calm.
