Design Story

The composition is centred and formal: a moonlit castle and pine ridge occupy the field, framed by a deep border of scrollwork, constellation discs, ceremonial swords, a crowned lion crest and ribboned banners. Tonal contrast does the heavy lifting — near-black ground against pale moonlight, with gold filigree acting as the connective line work. Negative space around the moon keeps the focal point clean, while the ornamental margin holds the edge and stops the imagery from bleeding visually into the floor.

Room & Styling

As a rug, the scale works in layers. From standing height you read the moon and silhouette; up close the border reveals its smaller medallions and lettering. The dark field grounds warm wood and leather seating, and the gold border defines a clear perimeter, letting the piece anchor a room rather than float in it.
