Some sports graphics scream. This one doesn't have to. It goes the opposite direction entirely, dressing team identity in the visual language of an antique trophy case, and that restraint is exactly why it lands.

Design Story

The composition is pure vertical symmetry. A deep black textured field carries gold-toned filigree scrollwork, and everything funnels toward one focal panel: the orange Power T set inside a jeweled ring, rendered to look like faceted amber and clear stones. Above it, arched lettering reads TENNESSEE with VOLUNTEERS beneath. Below, a football emblem, then EST. 1891 flanking the base, then FOOTBALL in serif caps. Amber gem accents punctuate the vertical axis at even intervals — top, center, bottom — which is the quiet trick holding the whole layout together. Black does the heavy lifting here; the negative space is what makes the orange read as glowing rather than loud.

Use & Experience

On a tumbler silhouette, this works because the artwork was built for a column. The wraparound composition keeps the crest dead-center on the front-facing panel, so the logo stays legible from across a room, while the scrollwork borders carry the eye around the curve. Handle side, lid area, base — the visual hierarchy never fights itself. It reads as a display piece that happens to be carryable.
